Well, I guess Saturday was pretty bad for the Yankees who lost to the Mets 7-4. I love the New York Yankees, and I am becoming quite disappointed with the season. Memo to Steinbrenner: You shoulda kept Joe Torre. It looks like another season without a World Series win :(. As for the Baltimore Orioles, they are still smoking after defeating the Washington Nationals in interleague play. Hallelujah! It is about time that the O’s get back into the groove (they are my local team…go back to Montreal, Nats!). The final score was 6-5.
In NHL play, it was a not so great day for both the Detroit Red Wings and Pittsburgh Penguins who both lost in Conference play. The Penguins are a great team lead by young leadership. It will be interesting to see who will come out alive in Eastern Conference play…will it be Pittsburgh or Philadelphia? As for the Red Wings, it is time to close the door and end the season. In the end, both Pittsburgh and Dallas will be fighting for the Stanley Cup.
Lastly, let’s look at NASCAR. I love NASCAR, and as a Tony Stewart fan, I was glad to see him in fifth place. The winner of the Sprint Cup Challenge at Lowe’s Motor Speedway went to Kasey Kahne. The top 5 results were:
1-Kasey Kahne
2-Greg Biffle
3-Matt Kenseth
4-Jimmie Johnson
5-Tony Stewart
